The Enclave
2024
University of Maryland
The Enclave is a building designed to blur the line between architecture and nature to foster immersive experiences within its natural surroundings.
The design complements the landscape through fluid forms, selected materials, structural makeup, and sustainable design principles. It is a study in organic integration, where the structure emerges from the landscape, echoing its contours with terraced levels that flow harmoniously with the topography.
This building is a living, breathing extension of its site, a thoughtful fusion of design, nature, and sustainability.
fostering immersive experiences.
The development of 9.3 acres of the site was envisioned as a two-phased project, with the first phase consisting of a 3,200 SF visitor center to welcome guests and orient them to the battlefield's significance. Phase two consists of a 20,000 SF, two-story building to house the FOM administrative offices and the public areas that further enhance the public educational mission of the FOM.
