DC Unfolded is a building dedicated to the art of storytelling, that offers dynamic spaces where narratives from diverse backgrounds come to life. It is a place where stories are celebrated and community connections are made.
The design of form, materials, and spatial experience is inspired by the idea of unfolding stories.
As visitors journey through the promenade of spaces the main storytelling space is unveiled by a series of layers. These layers, both conceptual and physical, foster a rich experience and create a unique narrative for the DC community.

unfolding stories.
The design is inspired by the idea of unfolding stories. This concept is reflected in the building’s facade, which features wood panels gradually unveiling the space inside. These panels serve as a metaphor for the layers of a story, inviting the community to venture inside and explore the narratives within. The facade features a sculptural wood screen attached to the cantilevered event space, signifying a grand experience within the building. Spanning the height of the building, a grand spiral staircase is wrapped in glass that serves as a beacon for visitors inside and outside.
